Divya Kernan (she/her) is a speculative fiction writer, a French native and an alumna of the Novel Generator 2019 and the Short Story Incubator 2021-2022 at GrubStreet, Boston.
As biracial and neurodivergent, she has spent the last decade chasing a stronger sense of identity abroad and through dreamed worlds. Her work explores the struggles of alienated characters searching for a sense of belonging in a world where they feel powerless.
Her short story "Carmilla, or, the Making of a Girl" published in Baffling Magazine was featured on Reactor Must Read list and mentioned in Locus 2025 Magazine Summary. Her flash fiction pieces are out or forthcoming in Lost Balloon and PseudoPod.
Outside of speculative fiction, she enjoys a stimulating bunch of disjointed interests: lawyer shows, regency romance, k-pop, bright colors, cake and biology to name a few.
